Salzburg's Christmas market is open on Christmas Day, 11:00 to 18:00 🎄 For Christmas week I'd pick Salzburg over Vienna, and it isn't close. 📅 Christkindlmarkt: 19 November to 1 January, on Residenzplatz and Domplatz 🕙 Mon to Thu 10:00 to 20:30, Fri to 21:00, Sat 09:00 to 21:00, Sun 09:00 to 20:30 🎄 24 December 09:00 to 15:00 🎄 25 and 26 December 11:00 to 18:00 🎆 31 December stalls to 18:00, some food and drink to 01:00, with the old town party on Kapitelplatz under the fortress Also on: the Advent market at Hellbrunn Palace (19 November to 24 December) and the ice rink on Mozartplatz (12 November to 31 January). For the day trip, Hallstatt. The salt mine runs 2 November to 6 January, €49 with the funicular or €33 for the mine only. Two traps: the last tour is at 15:00 in winter and the mine shuts on 24 and 31 December.
