Croatia's islands in winter: car ferries keep running, catamarans mostly don't ⛴️ Hvar in winter is my favourite: cheaper ferries and a quieter harbour. 1️⃣ Brač: Split to Supetar, 50 minutes, one timetable all year from 2026. About €6.50 on foot 2️⃣ Hvar: Split to Stari Grad, about two hours. €5.90 a person and €35.60 a car off-season, against €8.40 and €47.60 in summer 3️⃣ Mljet: Prapratno to Sobra, about 45 minutes. €3.90 a person and €19.60 a car off-season The catch on Hvar: the car ferry lands at Stari Grad, not Hvar Town, so plan the bus or car onward. On Hvar and Mljet, off-season fares run 1 January to 28 May and 28 September to 31 December. Each line sets its own timetable, so check the route, not the calendar. On the Mljet line the early sailings don't run on 1, 25 and 26 December. 👉 Swipe for all three islands and the holiday dates. Save this for your trip and send it to who you'd go with.
